Zakariya Hussein Hassan is a Data Science graduate from USIU-Africa who is passionate about using technology to make a diJerence. In 2023, he and his team, TAWI, won the Microsoft Imagine Cup World Championship with an app that helps children with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). The solution uses speech recognition, audio enhancement, and speech-to-text to make communication easier and more inclusive.

With a strong background in backend development, Python programming, data analysis, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Zakariya enjoys building tools that

solve real problems. He has worked on projects ranging from web platforms to data-driven applications, and he is especially interested in how technology can be applied in areas like conservation and community development.

Known for his curiosity and openness to learning, Zakariya thrives in collaborative environments where new ideas can grow. He looks forward to continuing his journey as a software engineer and data scientist, creating solutions that bring positive impact to people and society.
