Arsen Hendricks is a Senior Software Engineer passionate about applying technology to solve global challenges in climate, environment, and urban resilience. At Safaricom PLC, he has worked in the Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions team, automating deployments with Terraform and VMware vSphere, ensuring RHEL9 compliance, and supporting large-scale monitoring across hybrid environments. Beyond enterprise infrastructure, he has designed and delivered full-stack applications such as a Virtual Pet Adoption platform (Flask, React, Firebase) and FlavorFix, an AI-powered recipe generator, showcasing versatility in backend, frontend, and user-centered design.

Arsen’s academic projects reflect his interest in AI for sustainability. His capstone, ML and Big Data for Climate Action (SDG 13), developed predictive models for environmental monitoring, experience that aligns with GeoIQ projects like Tree Suitability – Kenya and Risk & Evacuation Assessments. He has also researched static code analysis with Codacy on major open-source projects (Apache Airflow & Spring Framework), strengthening his focus on clean, maintainable software.
